How to Request a Wheelchair on Japan Airlines?

You can ask for on-board wheelchair assistance. If you need a wheelchair right from the time you check-in till the time you board, that is also possible. Here are the easiest ways available to you for requesting a JAL wheelchair assistance.

  • Give an advance notification - Passengers needing wheelchair assistance should notify JAL when making their reservation or as soon as possible thereafter.
  • JAL special assistance desk - You can request the agent to check your mobility assistance.
  • On the flight - JAL staff will help you with on-board wheelchair if you need it to use the lavatory.

How to book mobility assistance on JAL?

JAL will let you book mobility assistance both at the time of booking or after booking. When you request wheelchair on Japan Airlines you must approach the check-in counter. The airline will offer you a wheelchair according to your requirement.  Here are the specific steps you have to follow.

  • During initial booking - On the Passenger information input screen when making a reservation, click the "apply" button under "Support information" to register your request for wheelchair access.

Does JAL support if you have personal mobility Assistance?

You may be able to bring mobility assistance if it can be folded and put under the seat. Both battery-operated and manual wheelchairs may be accommodated.
